Progressive Ataxia
Progressive Ataxia (PA) is a neurodegenerative disease with autosomal recessive inheritance that is characterized by lower extremity weakness and can cause cattle to have difficulty standing up or be totally unable to stand up. Onset is typically around 18 months but can be as early as 6 months of age. Only cattle with two copies of the recessive allele will be affected.
